About the role
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is seeking a Director of Special Events to lead the planning, production, and execution of events across its indoor and outdoor venues. Reporting to the Revenue and Engagement team, you will shape the museum’s event strategy and ensure exceptional experiences for guests and partners.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for internal and external clients interested in booking museum spaces, from inquiry through contract execution.
- Maintain and update the Elite event‑management database, department calendar, and client/vendor records.
- Develop and enforce event policies, pricing structures, and agreement templates.
- Coordinate catering, production, and venue operations for multiple concurrent events.
- Create, monitor, and report on project and departmental budgets.
- Collaborate with Revenue and Engagement to align event offerings with museum goals.
Required profile
- Proven experience in senior event planning or venue management roles.
- Strong project‑management abilities with a focus on detail and multitasking.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all client interactions.
- Excellent communication and client‑relationship skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with the Elite event‑management system.
