Director of Budget, Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a senior finance leader to direct budgeting, financial reporting, and analytical activities. This position guides strategic financial decisions, ensures compliance with reporting standards, and supports the institution’s mission of excellence in education, research, and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and monitor the annual operating budget for the university system.
• Oversee preparation and distribution of financial statements, regulatory reports, and internal analyses.
• Lead a team of finance professionals in forecasting, variance analysis, and performance measurement.
• Partner with senior leadership to align financial resources with strategic initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and institutional accounting policies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in financial management, budgeting, and reporting within a large organization.
• Proven leadership ability to manage and develop finance teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
