Director, Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead driver‑based forecasting, revenue analysis and variance tracking for its worldwide finance organization. The role will enhance forecast accuracy, align regional insights with corporate models and support strategic financial decisions across business units.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage driver‑based forecast models linking operational metrics to profit and loss, VASS and consolidated financial outcomes.
• Ensure consistency of driver methodology across forecast, budget, long‑range plan, earnings guidance and external reporting.
• Partner with regional and business‑unit FP&A teams to align bottom‑up inputs with top‑down driver expectations.
• Lead deep‑dive variance analysis, identifying root causes across drivers, mix, timing, pricing and external factors.
• Support quarterly earnings preparation, driver bridges, sequential analysis and external guidance.
• Translate complex driver movements into clear executive narratives for CFO, ELT and Board audiences.
• Automate forecasting from Excel to standardized, scalable models.
• Consolidate and report monthly, quarterly and annual performance in the Hyperion system.
• Provide analyses for earnings calls, analyst meetings and ad‑hoc business decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a global or regional capacity.
• Strong analytical skills with a track record in driver‑based forecasting, variance analysis and financial modelling.
