About the role

The Director, Customer Onboarding and Partnership leads Mastercard's efforts to strengthen merchant onboarding and risk management for high‑risk acquirers across North America. Based in O'Fallon, MO, the role combines training, compliance guidance, and performance monitoring to ensure safe, compliant specialty merchant services.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive training sessions for acquirers on specialty merchant requirements, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Educate acquirers on fraud detection, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies for high‑risk merchants.
• Provide expert guidance on specialty merchant risk management, adapting to emerging risk signals and regulatory changes.
• Design and produce internal and external reports that highlight performance gaps and prioritize remediation actions.
• Engage directly with customers to resolve performance issues, rule violations, and compliance breaches.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize specialty merchant onboarding processes and risk controls.
• Travel to customer sites across the North American region as needed to support onboarding and compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in fraud prevention, compliance, and merchant onboarding within the payments industry.
• Deep knowledge of high‑risk acquirer licensing, specialty merchant regulations, and risk‑signal analysis.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs to diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong analytical skills for designing performance reports and identifying remediation priorities.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills to serve as the primary interface with acquirers and internal teams.
