Diesel Tractor Mechanic – Up to $35.31/hr

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Tractor Mechanic to maintain and repair its Class 8 truck fleet at the Wilmington, OH service center. The position offers various shifts, up to $35.31 per hour, and includes vacation after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and forklifts as needed.
• Assist with welding tasks and other shop duties.

Required profile

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, including AC and electrical repairs.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and possess own tools.
• Dependable attendance and work ethic.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance on Class 8 trucks.
• Minor and major repairs on Class 8 trucks.
• AC repair.
• Electrical repair.
• Welding experience.
• Experience with Cummins engines.
• Experience with Detroit engines.
• Familiarity with Cetaris Maintenance Work Order System.
• CDL Class 8 towing experience.
