Design Associate – Women’s Outlet Bags

About the role

Coach is seeking a Design Associate to support the Women’s Outlet Bags and Small Leathergoods category. You will work closely with the design team and cross‑functional partners to bring seasonal concepts from idea to market.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret the Coach aesthetic and translate it into silhouettes and seasonal concepts.
• Research global and vintage markets to identify trends, materials, hardware, and detailing.
• Create flat sketches and colored illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Prepare technical specifications, design cards, and CADs under tight deadlines.
• Maintain organized digital libraries and support studio space management.
• Develop digital and physical presentations for milestone meetings.
• Collaborate daily with Senior Design, Technical Design, Material, Product Development, and Merchandising teams in New York and overseas.
• Uphold Coach design integrity and meet all project timelines.

Required profile

• Organized with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Flexible, self‑managed, and proactive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team player.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field preferred.
• 2‑4 years experience in handbag or related product design.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Hand sketching ability, including flat sketching.
• Strong sense of color.
