Data Conversion Specialist

About the role

The Data Conversion Specialist will lead the migration of legacy financial data into a new, modern platform supporting a district‑level modernization initiative. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and cross‑functional partners to ensure data integrity, security, and auditability throughout the conversion process.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and map data from legacy systems to the new platform.
• Develop and execute comprehensive data conversion plans.
• Design and run data validation and testing procedures.
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and consistency during migration.
• Collaborate with business owners, IT, and other departments to prioritize conversion requirements.
• Research emerging data conversion technologies and recommend improvements.
• Mentor and train team members on best practices for data conversion.
• Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in data analysis, mapping, and migration between legacy and modern systems.
• Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive data conversion plans.
• Experience designing and executing data validation and testing processes.
• Strong track record ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency on large‑scale projects.
• Demonstrated collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, and cross‑functional groups.
• Ability to research and evaluate data conversion technologies and industry trends.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
