Data Center Technician – Part Time

About the role

Microsoft is seeking a part‑time Data Center Technician to join its Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team. You will work in a data‑center environment, learning standard processes for installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and decommissioning equipment under the guidance of experienced colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, install, and replace data‑center hardware following established procedures.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot issues on servers, network, and storage equipment.
• Assist with cabling infrastructure and understand interactions between network, server, and storage systems.
• Follow data‑center policies, safety guidelines, and documentation requirements.
• Escalate unresolved problems to senior technicians or management.

Required profile

• Interest in data‑center operations and willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to travel periodically (0‑25%) to support other locations.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of server, network, and storage hardware.
• Familiarity with cabling and equipment handling procedures.
