Counter Sales Associate

About the role

Stuart Hose & Pipe, a SunSource company, is looking for an experienced Counter Sales Associate for its Longview branch. The role combines front‑counter sales duties with warehouse operations, ensuring customers receive the right products quickly and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Process orders received from counter customers and assist them in selecting the correct hose, pipe and fitting items.
• Use the ERP system to check material availability, determine lead times and create purchase or transfer orders.
• Handle shipping and receiving tasks, maintain inventory accuracy, and operate warehouse equipment.
• Prepare and respond to requests for quotes (RFQs) from current and potential customers.
• Train and mentor new or potential Counter Sales team members.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge of Stuart Hose & Pipe’s catalog and supplier offerings.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Knowledge of hose and fittings products and basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and lift heavy items.
• Strong communication, organization and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with an ERP system for order processing and inventory control.
• Operation of warehouse machinery (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
