Corporate Counsel (Litigation)

About the role

This position offers an experienced attorney the chance to lead employment‑related litigation and compliance matters for a fast‑growing technology‑driven healthcare workforce solutions company. You will work closely with HR, Compliance, Marketing, IT and senior leadership to deliver practical, business‑focused legal advice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on employment issues such as wage and hour compliance, employee classification, accommodations, investigations and benefits.
• Draft, review and advise on employment policies, HR procedures and internal guidelines.
• Manage and support the defense of lawsuits, claims and administrative charges, assessing risks and recommending dispute strategies.
• Conduct legal risk analyses and align recommendations with organizational objectives.
• Monitor changes in employment law and proactively advise departments on compliance impacts.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with HR, Compliance, Marketing, IT and leadership to mitigate legal exposure.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, policy enhancements and operational efficiencies.
• Support alternative dispute resolution efforts and participate in negotiations when appropriate.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA‑accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• Minimum five years of experience handling employment law and wage‑and‑hour matters.
• Strong knowledge of employment regulations, compliance frameworks, litigation processes and risk management.
• Proven experience advising internal business stakeholders in corporate or in‑house legal environments.
• Excellent legal research, analytical thinking and project management abilities.
