Controls Engineer – Manufacturing Automation

About the role

Elevate is seeking a Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of control systems across its building envelope manufacturing sites. The role focuses on implementing high‑performance Rockwell‑based architectures and leveraging Ignition SCADA to enhance process stability in a continuous production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and document enterprise standards for modular, scalable control systems.
• Define technical scope and functional requirements for new projects and legacy migrations.
• Lead design and deployment of Ignition SCADA projects, including real‑time visualization, alarming, and historical reporting.
• Assess existing systems, identify bottlenecks, and implement PID loop tuning and advanced control strategies.
• Serve as primary technical lead for troubleshooting Rockwell (Allen‑Bradley) PLCs, PowerFlex VFDs, and instrumentation issues.
• Create preventive maintenance procedures and maintain updated electrical schematics (E‑Plan or AutoCAD).
• Manage external contractors and system integrators, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Identify OT security vulnerabilities and develop mitigation plans.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in industrial control system design and continuous process control.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work across multiple manufacturing sites.
