Construction and Facilities Manager

About the role

Embla Medical is seeking a Construction and Facilities Manager to lead the planning, execution and ongoing management of construction projects and facility operations across its U.S. locations. The role ensures that all build‑out activities align with lease terms, regulatory requirements and the company’s cost targets while supporting the delivery of prosthetics and patient‑care services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop test‑fits and layout plans in partnership with Operations, ensuring alignment with lease and build‑out scope.
• Participate in lease negotiations to confirm construction compliance and cost alignment.
• Identify and engage architects, define project scope, permitting requirements and timelines.
• Review construction drawings, lead value‑engineering exercises and provide technical recommendations.
• Create and manage comprehensive project and facilities repair budgets, obtain leadership approval and monitor cost control.
• Define qualified general contractors, prepare bid packages, oversee competitive bidding and award contracts.
• Negotiate vendor contracts, maintain vendor relationships and coordinate with Legal for contract finalisation.
• Monitor permit applications, secure occupancy permits and ensure compliance with all regulatory policies.
• Oversee construction phase activities, develop schedules, track progress and resolve issues to meet specifications, budgets and timelines.
• Manage procurement, ordering and tracking of equipment and furniture, and coordinate field support for assembly.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing construction projects and facilities operations in a multi‑site environment.
• Strong background in budget development, cost control and financial approval processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of regulatory permitting, occupancy certification and compliance procedures.
• Experience coordinating equipment procurement and logistics for large‑scale installations.
