About the role
Greystar is seeking a Community Manager to oversee the daily operations of an assigned multifamily property in New York City. The role combines property management, financial oversight, and resident engagement to ensure the community runs smoothly and meets performance targets.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day property operations, including team supervision and resource allocation.
- Develop and monitor budgets by analyzing financial statements, market data, and operational reports.
- Set rent rates, collect payments, process bank deposits, and prepare monthly financial status reports.
- Approve vendor invoices, verify insurance certificates, and coordinate coding to the appropriate chart of accounts.
- Control expenditures within approved budgets and manage petty‑cash funds.
- Oversee lease enforcement: approve applications, renewals, discounts, conduct inspections, issue notices, and handle evictions and late‑fee collections.
- Analyze market and economic trends to devise short‑ and long‑term leasing and marketing strategies.
- Promote resident satisfaction and retention while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing, ADA, and other regulatory requirements.
Required profile
- Proven experience in multifamily property management or community management.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and lease administration.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and related regulations.
- Ability to lead a team, manage vendors, and communicate effectively with owners and residents.
- Analytical mindset to interpret market data and adjust strategies accordingly.
