Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist

About the role

The Commercial Loan Documentation Specialist supports the Commercial Loan Department by preparing, reviewing, and filing loan documentation for a variety of loan products. This position works closely with commercial lenders, portfolio managers, and branch staff to ensure accurate and compliant loan processing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and input commercial loan documents for C&I loans, real estate, construction, lines of credit, standby letters, modifications and renewals.
• Review loan files for accuracy, policy compliance, lien perfection, and regulatory requirements.
• Examine supporting documents such as articles of incorporation, trust agreements, appraisals, insurance policies, and flood certifications.
• Research public records to verify borrower information, lien guidelines, and authorized signers.
• Record and file liens, titles, UCC statements, and process paid‑off loans.
• Organize loan files, request vault documents, and forward files to loan servicing for system set‑up.
• Complete mandatory training on BSA and AML compliance.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum three years of commercial loan documentation experience; title‑company experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with loan documentation systems (e.g., Laser Pro).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
• Internet navigation and research abilities.
