Portfolio Manager

About the role

The Portfolio Manager works closely with the Commercial Banking Team Leader, Regional Commercial Management, and Regional Credit Officer to oversee a defined portfolio of commercial banking relationships. The role spans the entire loan lifecycle—from application through closing and ongoing administration—while driving growth of loan and deposit balances and generating fee income.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite, monitor, and manage commercial loan requests, ensuring compliance with loan policies and credit risk standards.
• Analyze financial statements and other data to assess creditworthiness, recommend loan structures, and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
• Co‑manage the portfolio, handling delinquencies, collateral exceptions, borrowing base calculations, and periodic portfolio reviews.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, liaising with the Credit Department, Relationship Managers, and internal support teams.
• Prepare and present loan proposals for the bank’s approval process and lead renewal negotiations.
• Complete mandatory training, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) requirements.

Required profile

• Regular, predictable attendance and ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
• Experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio administration.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, BSA, and AML procedures.

Required skills

• Credit analysis and financial statement evaluation.
• Knowledge of loan structuring and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with BSA and AML compliance requirements.
