Commercial Lead – Bids & Proposals

About the role

Seadrill is seeking a Commercial Lead to own the end‑to‑end tender and proposal process for its offshore drilling projects. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop competitive bids, manage commercial risk, and support senior management decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the full tender lifecycle from receipt to submission, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals, bids, and tender responses that meet client, regulatory, technical and geographical requirements.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, legal, tax, finance, supply chain, HR and marketing to assess contractual and project risks.
  • Prepare cost estimates, economic profiles (BAS) and recommend solutions to optimise financial returns.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, reconcile technical and commercial positions, and secure mutually agreeable terms.
  • Oversee quality control of tender deliverables and drive continuous improvement of the tendering process.
  • Facilitate preparation of Contract Approval Forms and Board Memos, and support board presentations.
  • Assist Business Development with opportunity identification and follow‑up.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing.
  • Minimum three years of experience in the drilling industry covering commercial, financial and contractual aspects of offshore drilling.
