CMM Programmer

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group seeks a CMM Programmer to ensure the quality of highly engineered aerospace and defense components. In this role you will develop advanced inspection programs, support manufacturing and quality operations, and drive measurement excellence across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare electronic code and detailed inspection instructions for operating numerical‑controlled (N/C) inspection equipment.
• Develop CMM programs both directly on the machine (“learn programming”) and offline at the computer‑aided inspection (CAI) station.
• Ensure compatibility of engineering drawings, design data, and fabrication methods with CMM capabilities.
• Provide training to machinists, quality auditors, and technicians on CMM operation.
• Resolve compatibility issues between the CAI system and CAD‑generated design data.
• Create solid models using CAD systems when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing inspection experience.
• Above‑average knowledge of GD&T.
• At least 3 years of CMM inspection/programming experience.

• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• CMM programming.
• CAD/CAI systems.
• Metrology principles.
• Zeiss Calypso software (preferred).
• PolyWorks software (preferred).
