About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Clinical Interpreter to support patient‑provider communication within its medical services. The role ensures accurate translation of medical information, facilitating high‑quality care for diverse patient populations.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret spoken and written communication between patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Translate medical documents, consent forms, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Assist with accurate documentation of interpreted encounters in the electronic health record.
• Support Medicaid enrollment processes as needed.

Required profile

• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language commonly spoken by patients.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical environments.
