Civil/Mechanical Design Engineer – Nuclear

About the role

This position supports the operation and maintenance of a nuclear power plant by providing civil and mechanical design expertise. The engineer acts as a liaison between the engineering team and plant operations, ensuring configuration control and timely resolution of plant issues.

Key responsibilities

• Support Maintenance and Operations in resolving significant plant events and complex problems.
• Maintain Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualifications and duties.
• Issue design changes and temporary modifications to address emergent reliability issues.
• Assist in planning, prioritization, and execution of project life‑cycle activities.
• Implement corrective‑action and work‑management processes to address deficiencies.
• Develop engineering products following defined standards and procedures.
• Participate in outage engineering support teams and critical on‑line system outages.
• Attend required training and maintain necessary qualifications.

Required profile

• B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience level based on role: Engineer I (0‑2 years), Engineer II (2‑3 years), Engineer III (3‑4 years), Sr. Engineer (4‑5 years), Sr. Lead (6+ years) in nuclear power design or operations.
• Desired certifications: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
