About the role
Montage International is seeking a passionate Chef de Cuisine to lead the culinary operations at The Loft. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences, driving menu innovation, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and order all items for menus, create order sheets and manage inventory to ensure proper stock levels.
- Collaborate with the Executive Steward to control inventory, reduce breakage and loss of china and equipment.
- Assist in managing food and labor costs through recipe costing and scheduling.
- Execute production and plating efficiently, exceeding guest expectations.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising sous chefs and cooks.
- Implement cost‑control measures and revenue‑enhancement strategies.
- Create staffing schedules and ensure appropriate coverage.
- Partner with the Executive Chef on menu development, culinary innovation, and food presentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies.
Required profile
- Passionate about food and beverage operations.
- Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
- Willingness to learn, develop personally, and mentor others.
- Trustworthy with high integrity.
Required skills
- Minimum three years of culinary supervisory or management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
