Cash, Medical and Initial Resettlement Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Cash, Medical and Initial Resettlement Coordinator to lead a team delivering cash assistance, medical services and health screenings to newly‑arrived refugees. The role oversees direct client services, ensures compliance with donor requirements and coordinates with local partners to facilitate smooth resettlement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cash assistance, medical services and health‑screening support to IRC clients.
• Review client applications, determine eligibility and prevent duplication of services.
• Conduct monthly redetermination meetings to assess continued eligibility and employment service participation.
• Prepare enrollment packages, including letters and insurance cards, in line with Kansas Office for Refugees (KSOR) guidelines.
• Deliver orientation on benefits and local health systems, and troubleshoot billing or insurance verification issues.
• Collaborate with KSOR and health‑clinic staff to schedule screenings and resolve coordination challenges.
• Monitor policy changes (TANF, SNAP, KanCare, Medicaid) and communicate impacts to clients and partners.
• Supervise staff, maintain accurate documentation, and meet all funder reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Experience working with refugee or humanitarian cash and medical assistance programs.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. social safety‑net programs (TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, KanCare).
• Ability to supervise a team and foster an inclusive, respectful environment.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with multiple stakeholders.
