About the role
Join the State of Georgia’s public safety team as a Campus Police Officer at Gwinnett Technical College’s Lawrenceville campus. This part‑time, 19‑hour per week position supports campus security, emergency response, and law‑enforcement duties while providing a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Guard and monitor campus buildings, respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Investigate criminal complaints, vehicle accidents and coordinate with State Patrol and local law enforcement.
- Patrol premises to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure security of doors, windows and gates.
- Provide security for special events, direct traffic and escort individuals as needed.
- Write detailed reports of daily activities, incidents and irregularities.
Required profile
- High School diploma or GED.
- Georgia POST law‑enforcement certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
- Five years of police law‑enforcement experience (preferred).
- Campus law‑enforcement experience (preferred).
