C++ Software Intern

About the role

This paid Summer Engineering Internship runs from mid‑May to early August. As a C++ Software Intern in Austin, you will support the autonomous underwater vehicle program by developing software, creating algorithms, and assisting with vehicle operation and testing. You may also contribute to user documentation, testing, and requirements gathering while working closely with a mentor.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C++ code and algorithms for vehicle control systems.
• Prepare presentations, technical papers, and documentation.
• Collaborate with project team members and clients in meetings and reviews.
• Test software remotely, in simulation, and on the designated vehicle.

Required profile

• BS, MS or PhD candidate in Software Engineering, Robotics or a related field with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and vehicle control system concepts.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑performance team with shifting schedules.
