Business Intelligence Consultant

About the role

Fractal is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Consultant to lead the design and delivery of end‑to‑end BI solutions for enterprise clients. You will own the full BI lifecycle, from gathering requirements to deploying dashboards on Power BI Service and providing ongoing support.

Key responsibilities

• Gather requirements, define KPIs, and perform data profiling and exploratory analysis.
• Design semantic models, write DAX measures, and develop Power BI reports and dashboards with strong UX focus.
• Build reliable datasets using Power Query, Dataflows, and SQL; manage DirectQuery, Import, and composite models.
• Work with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
• Define data contracts, enforce data quality and security (RLS/OLS), and optimize refresh and gateway configurations.
• Provide documentation, training, and support for end users.

Required profile

• 5–6 years of hands‑on Power BI development experience.
• Expert‑level proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M).
• Strong SQL skills and experience with dimensional data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Proven performance‑tuning experience (VertiPaq, query folding, aggregations).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• STEM or related degree preferred.

• Power BI Service administration (workspaces, gateways, RLS/OLS, incremental refresh).
• SQL and relational database concepts.
• DAX, Power Query (M) scripting.
• Google Cloud Platform – BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage.
• Data modeling, ETL pipelines, and data quality enforcement.
