Breakfast Cook – Day Shift

About the role

The Renaissance Dallas Hotel is seeking a reliable Cook I to join its breakfast team on the day shift, starting at 4:30 am. You will work in a fast‑paced kitchen, preparing hot and cold items, ensuring quality, and supporting the culinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast items according to recipes, presentation, and quality standards.
• Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Pull frozen items for thawing, maintain portion control, and garnish dishes.
• Maintain food logs, monitor food quality and quantity, and communicate needs during busy periods.
• Inform the Chef of excess items for specials and update service staff on menu changes.
• Follow safety, security, and sanitation policies; report maintenance or safety issues.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and employee coaching as needed.

Required profile

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Willingness to follow company policies and maintain a professional appearance.
