About the role
Rolls‑Royce is seeking a B‑52 / F130 Lifecycle Engineer to provide world‑class technical support for in‑service and delivered products. Based in Indianapolis, IN, the role is hybrid with three days on‑site per week and focuses on ensuring safety, reliability and cost‑effectiveness throughout the product life‑cycle.
Key responsibilities
- Manage known and potential safety issues (SAR & RT) and participate in safety boards as defined in the Safety Management Plan.
- Provide technical support to resolve queries and operational issues, leading investigations to determine root causes.
- Introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions to address identified problems.
- Conduct technical surveillance and quality‑assurance audits to drive continuous product enhancement.
- Develop and approve technical publications and communications for OEMs, build/commissioning, maintenance bases and customers, including acceptance limit development.
- Set reliability targets based on historical data, monitor performance, and report on operational disruption metrics.
- Predict future safety and reliability performance using statistical techniques such as numerical risk assessment, parametric distribution and fly‑forward analysis.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction throughout the product life‑cycle.
Required profile
- Experience in managing safety issues and participating in safety boards.
- Proven ability to lead root‑cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Familiarity with technical surveillance, quality‑assurance audits and product reliability modelling.
- Capability to develop technical publications for OEMs and maintenance organisations.
- Strong analytical skills for reliability target setting and statistical performance prediction.
Required skills
- Statistical analysis techniques for reliability and safety assessment.
- Knowledge of safety management processes (SAR, RT) and safety board participation.
- Experience with technical documentation and publication development.
