About the role
The Associate Professor (Clinical, Non‑Tenure) will join the Department of Surgery at UAMS, providing education, clinical service, and research mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, labs, and clinical instruction for medical students and surgical trainees.
- Supervise patient care activities within the surgical department.
- Develop and update curriculum and assessment tools.
- Participate in scholarly activities, including research and publications.
- Serve on departmental and university committees.
Required profile
- MD or DO with board certification in surgery.
- Eligibility for academic appointment at a medical school.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and patient care.
- Commitment to the educational mission of UAMS.
Required skills
- Clinical expertise in surgery.
- Proficiency in teaching methodologies.
- Ability to supervise and mentor trainees.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment.
