Assistant Professor of Social Work

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to join its Social Work department. The position focuses on teaching, advising, research, and service within the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 12 credit hours each semester across the BSW curriculum.
• Participate actively in the department’s CSWE reaffirmation process.
• Provide academic and professional advising to BSW students.
• Engage in university and community service activities.
• Develop and implement an active research agenda aligned with the program’s mission.

Required profile

• MSW degree from a CSWE‑accredited program.
• Minimum two years of post‑master social work practice in social services settings.
• LMSW or LCSW eligibility and licensure eligibility in Arkansas.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• At least two years of college teaching experience, preferably in BSW or MSW programs, in face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid formats.
