Assistant Professor of Accounting

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Professor of Accounting to join its School of Business. This tenure‑track position focuses on undergraduate teaching and scholarly activity within a teaching‑centered environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach approximately twelve credit hours per semester, including Principles of Managerial Accounting and upper‑level courses such as Cost Accounting, Auditing, Governmental/Nonprofit Accounting, and Accounting Information Systems.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
• Contribute to departmental service and university committees.
• Engage in research or scholarly activities aligned with the school’s teaching mission.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field (strongly preferred); ABD or Master’s degree candidates will be considered.
• CPA licensure or eligibility with intent to obtain certification is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and effective communication.
