Assistant Director of Sport Programs and Recreation

About the role

The Assistant Director of Sport Programs and Recreation will lead the planning, promotion, and delivery of intramural and broader recreational activities for Georgetown University. This position enhances student engagement, wellbeing, and inclusive campus life through innovative programming and cross‑campus collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, organize, and manage intramural sports, summer youth camps, sports leagues, and leisure education courses.
• Lead the Campus Recreation Council and coordinate cross‑campus initiatives to expand recreational offerings.
• Oversee facility operations, including maintenance, security, and supervision of Kehoe Field and other recreation spaces.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, risk‑management policies, and university standards.
• Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies, update program websites, and manage social‑media outreach.
• Collaborate with Student Affairs to align programs with the university’s mission of student engagement and wellbeing.
• Support diversity, equity, and inclusion by creating programs that serve the entire campus community and fostering diverse applicant pools for student employment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing campus or community recreation programs.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills to work with multiple campus units.
