Assistant Community Manager – Vineyard Gardens Apartments

About the role

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of Vineyard Gardens Apartments, a 180‑unit garden‑style community in Santa Rosa. The role handles accounting tasks, rent collection, invoicing, and reporting while ensuring resident satisfaction and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and post rent, fees, and other payments; prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile accounts.
• Process vendor invoices, code charges, and manage payments using Yardi/OneSite.
• Review resident files for delinquent balances, communicate with residents, and enforce lease terms to maximize revenue.
• Assist with resident move‑outs, deposit refunds, and disposition procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
• Supervise on‑site operations in the Community Manager’s absence, coordinating maintenance and make‑ready tasks.
• Support leasing activities by greeting prospects, showing apartments, and assisting with applications and credit verification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Communications, or related field preferred.
• 1‑3 years of experience in property management, residence life, or related customer‑service role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish a plus.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with property‑management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or Entrata.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and database/spreadsheet management.
• Ability to perform basic accounting and bookkeeping functions.
• Valid driver’s license for on‑site mobility.
