APRN Neurosurgery Clinic Position

About the role

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will join the Neurosurgery Clinic at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This full‑time, onsite role supports neurosurgical patients through assessment, treatment planning, and coordination of care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neurosurgery patients, including pre‑operative and post‑operative management.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications within APRN scope.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and follow‑up care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Current University of Arkansas System employee (including student or graduate assistant) eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid APRN license and certification.
• Demonstrated experience in a surgical or neurosurgical setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Advanced clinical assessment and decision‑making.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
