About the role
The API Inspector reports to the Mechanical Integrity Engineer and ensures the mechanical integrity of pipelines, process piping, pressure vessels and tanks complies with governing design and inspection codes. The role involves extensive travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities and offshore locations, primarily within the United States.
Key responsibilities
- Perform internal and external inspections of pipelines, process piping, pressure vessels and tanks to verify compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Compile, submit and maintain daily inspection reports, shutdown reports and related documentation using standard computer software.
- Travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities and offshore locations to conduct inspections and support project needs.
Required profile
- Minimum two years of experience in mechanical equipment inspection.
- Current API 510 and API 570 certifications; API 653 and STI Tank certifications are a plus.
- Ability to pass Level 2 ultrasonic testing examination and complete respiratory fit testing for H₂S and confined‑space work.
Required skills
- Knowledge of API, ASME, AWS standards (API 510, 570, 653).
- Familiarity with non‑destructive examination (NDE) methodologies and Level 2 UT certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for report preparation.
