Anesthesia Technician – Full‑Time

About the role

The Anesthesia Technician supports anesthesiologists by preparing equipment, managing supplies, and ensuring the safe delivery of anesthesia care. This full‑time position is based within the University of Miami Health System.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, organize, and maintain the anesthesia workroom, supplies, and equipment.
• Prepare and service patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after procedures.
• Consider age‑specific requirements for diverse patient groups.
• Uphold quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.
• Document preventive maintenance and quality records.
• Assist with patient transport and handling of laboratory specimens.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, meetings, and in‑service training.
• Follow university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Applicable certifications as defined by the department.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
• Experience operating patient monitoring devices.
• Familiarity with anesthesia delivery systems.
• Skill in cleaning and sterilizing reusable medical equipment.
