Air Operations Agent

About the role

The Air Operations Agent (Air Import Agent) coordinates international air freight import shipments, ensuring cargo moves efficiently from origin to destination while complying with customs regulations, airline requirements, and company procedures. The role serves as the primary contact for customers, airlines, customs brokers, and transportation providers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor air import shipments from arrival to final delivery.
• Prepare, review, and process import documentation such as Air Waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
• Communicate shipment status with airlines, ground handlers, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers.
• Arrange cargo release, customs clearance, and inland transportation.
• Track shipments, provide proactive updates, and resolve delays, damages, or discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs, TSA, and company policies.
• Manage billing, invoicing, and cost control for import shipments.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and support customers with quotes and inquiries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or air cargo operations.
• Knowledge of air freight import procedures and U.S. customs regulations.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment handling multiple shipments.
