AI Safety Operator

About the role

We are seeking a motivated self‑starter to join Tesla’s Full‑Self‑Driving (FSD) supervised team as an AI Safety Operator. You will spend extended periods behind the wheel of an engineering vehicle, collecting audio and camera data to support testing and training of autonomous driving systems.

Key responsibilities

• Drive an engineering vehicle for 6‑8 hours daily in a designated area to gather high‑quality data.
• Manage ride‑hailing operations, including driver and rider coordination.
• Start and stop recording equipment, perform minor debugging of hardware or software.
• Analyze data quality after each shift and submit detailed drive reports.
• Provide feedback to improve data‑collection processes and ensure vehicle safety before every shift.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with at least three years of driving history.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to observe subtle data‑collection nuances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and day, afternoon, or night shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using data‑collection tools and troubleshooting equipment.
• Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving Systems (ADS) is preferred.
