Adjunct Psychology Instructor (College Level)

About the role

The position provides associate‑level psychology instruction to college students, preparing syllabi, lesson plans, and program goals. It may involve teaching traditional day/evening classes, online courses, or dual‑enrollment programs, with travel within the college service area.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver psychology coursework in classroom, online, or hybrid formats.
• Prepare and follow approved syllabi, lesson plans, and grading procedures.
• Maintain accurate grade books, student records, and inventory of assigned properties.
• Evaluate student progress toward learning objectives and provide feedback.
• Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and institutional training.
• Serve as lead instructor or mentor to other adjunct faculty when needed.
• Adhere to Technical College System of Georgia policies and accreditation standards.
• Travel to multiple campus sites or dual‑enrollment locations as required.

Required profile

• Earned master’s degree in Psychology (or related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in psychology) from an accredited institution.
• Submission of a current resume, completed CGTC job application, and official transcripts.
• Alternative qualification may be considered with a master’s in a related field plus documented teaching competence.
• Preferred: documented post‑secondary teaching experience in psychology.

What we offer

• Set fee per course based on a $29 gross hourly rate per contact hour, with possible additional stipends for orientation, training, and course development.
• Adjunct appointments are temporary, time‑limited for a single academic term and do not include retirement, state insurance, leave, or holiday pay.
