Adjunct Faculty – Diesel Truck Operations

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Monticello seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach and supervise diesel truck operations within its technical programs. This temporary, fixed‑term position involves classroom instruction, hands‑on training, and evaluation of student drivers.

Key responsibilities

• Operate state commercial diesel trucks and deliver related undergraduate/technical coursework.
• Train and evaluate student drivers on the range, determining readiness for on‑road training.
• Assist students with pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and safety procedures.
• Facilitate instructional and laboratory activities, maintain program and student records, and support program accreditation.
• Provide supervision during evening and/or summer hours as required.

Required profile

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with preferred additional endorsements.
• Minimum five years of CDL experience, including teaching or training drivers.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues.
