Accounting Associate

About the role

The Accounting Associate will work on accounting engagements for business and nonprofit clients, handling assignments of basic to moderate complexity while contributing to process‑improvement initiatives. After an introductory period, the role can be performed on‑site with the option to work remotely one to two days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Gather client information, complete assignments, and coordinate with reviewers.
• Monitor engagement status, maintain communication with clients and supervisors, and attend client appointments.
• Prepare client invoices, manage accounts receivable/payable ledgers, and process payroll and tax deposits.
• Record accounting transactions, prepare general ledgers, and review monthly bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and prepare payroll, sales/use, and other state/local tax returns.
• Maintain control of time and charges, participate in pricing and billing, and perform basic accounting advisory services as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate's degree (or near completion) required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 0–3 years of recent accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with solid communication and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop & Online).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
