Tax Associate – Individual & Business Tax Services

About the role

The Tax Associate will focus on tax engagements for individual and business clients, handling assignments from basic to moderate complexity. After an introductory period, the role offers a hybrid work arrangement with up to two remote days per week. The position reports to a Project Manager and involves regular client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with gathering client information, completing assignments and coordinating with preparers and managers.
• Monitor and report on engagement status, maintaining communication with clients and supervisors.
• Attend client appointments and assemble information for tax assignments.
• Prepare and review federal, state and local tax returns under senior supervision.
• Resolve routine to moderately complex tax return issues.
• Maintain time and charge controls for accurate billing and participate in pricing.
• Perform basic tax planning, research and consulting engagements as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or near completion); Master’s degree and CPA or CPA‑candidate preferred.
• 0–3 years tax experience in a CPA firm preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop & Online).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
