Accountant II – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

CopperPoint is seeking an Accountant II to handle intermediate‑level accounting transactions, financial reporting, and analysis. The role ensures accuracy, compliance with accounting standards, and supports both internal and external audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory reports and filings for the company and its subsidiaries.
• Analyze filing documents for variances or anomalies and collaborate with senior staff on complex accounting issues.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and validate general‑ledger balances.
• Participate in month‑end close activities.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing audit work‑papers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of accounting principles, insurance accounting, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical abilities to work with large data sets and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using accounting software for transaction processing.

What we offer

• Salary range $65,000 – $80,000 annually, plus discretionary bonus.
