About the role
The Account Manager will lead sales activities within an assigned territory, focusing on both existing customers and new business opportunities. Using a consultative approach, the role aims to maximise sales, profit and customer satisfaction while upholding Brenntag’s core values.
Key responsibilities
- Achieve sales targets and improve customer retention through regular face‑to‑face or telephone contacts.
- Identify cross‑selling and range‑selling opportunities, set growth strategies and develop a sales plan aligned with the Sales Manager.
- Conduct frequent customer visits, prepare proposals, negotiate and close deals, including spot business and rush offers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product Management, Sales Management, Commercial Assistant) to deliver optimal solutions and pricing.
- Act as the primary commercial point of contact for customers in the territory.
- Perform market studies to uncover new product opportunities and test demand.
- Leverage Brenntag Connect to generate and maximise sales.
- Generate new leads, prioritize prospects, and nurture them through the sales pipeline.
- Set and optimise prices within product‑management guidelines.
- Maintain accurate data in the local CRM system, update opportunity pipelines, and produce regular sales reports and forecasts.
Required profile
- Proven experience in sales or account management, preferably in a B2B environment.
- Strong consultative selling mindset with a focus on customer needs.
- Ability to manage a territory, plan strategically and work autonomously.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver solutions.
