Zone Sales Manager – Automotive Refinish (West)

About the role

BASF is seeking a Zone Sales Manager for its Automotive Refinish business in the Western United States. This field‑based position includes a company car and requires residence near a major metropolitan area or airport in the West.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional sales strategies to meet revenue and profit targets.
• Manage relationships with distributors and key end‑users to increase market penetration.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive growth initiatives within the automotive refinish segment.
• Lead, coach, and mentor Operations Managers, Sales Representatives, Technical Representatives, and Business Development Managers.
• Set performance goals, provide feedback, and create development plans for the team.
• Oversee technical support and business development activities to ensure superior customer experience.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on supply chain, pricing, and promotional programs.
• Monitor KPIs, implement corrective actions, and maintain operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading sales teams in the automotive or coatings industry.
• Strong track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with distributors and end‑users.
• Ability to work independently in a field‑based role and travel within the Western region.
• Residence near a major metropolitan area or airport in the West.
