Youth Sports Coach (AmeriCorps Service)

About the role

Coach Across America seeks passionate youth sports coaches/mentors for a one‑year AmeriCorps service term in Los Angeles County. You will lead practices, run clinics, and support the social‑emotional development of underserved youth through sports.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and run sport‑specific practices and game‑day assignments.
• Create and deliver curriculum‑based activities for assigned age groups.
• Provide academic support, tutoring, and mentorship to members.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and track attendance.
• Participate in trainings, orientation, and required meetings.

Required profile

• Passion for youth development and mentoring.
• Culturally competent with ability to work with diverse youth.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team‑player mindset.
• At least 18 years old, U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (or working towards).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience using Google Suite.

What we offer

• Living allowance/stipend minimum $12,150 per year.
• Education award minimum $3,697.50.
• Health insurance for full‑time coach slots (host‑site dependent).
