Youth Multi-Sport Coach - Richmond/Pinole (Fall 2026)

About the role

ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars) is looking for passionate part-time youth sports coaches for K-5th grade students in Richmond for Fall 2026. Coaches lead weekly after-school sports enrichment classes at one or more partner elementary schools in the Richmond (West Contra Costa School District) and/or greater East Bay area. No previous coaching experience is required, as all coaches receive training.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a fun and safe weekly sports class for children aged 5-10.
• Teach the fundamentals of sports through a cohesive, game-filled lesson plan (training provided).
• Attend an in-person orientation training.
• Arrive on time each week for the full season and keep accurate attendance.
• Interact positively with parents, teachers and school staff.
• Set up before and clean up after each program, and transport coaching equipment to and from class each week.

Required profile

• Available for the entire season, September through December 2026, at least one weekday afternoon per week (3-6 p.m., 1-1.5 hour classes, sometimes back to back).
• Reliable transportation to the coaching site; a vehicle is very helpful because equipment must be brought to and from class.
• Responsible, professional and patient with young children, with strong communication skills.
• Experience as a player or coach (at least two years) is highly valued but optional.
• Must pass a federal and state background check and/or FBI fingerprinting and test negative for tuberculosis within the last four years.

What we offer

• Pay of $25-35 per hour.
• Flexible schedule allowing work in the afternoon alongside school and other commitments.
• Ongoing support and training, and the chance to return for the whole school year and weekend or summer programs.
• Experience in early childhood sports education.
