Workers Compensation Claims Representative (Indiana)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Claims Representative for a dedicated client, working primarily in Indiana. The role analyzes Lost-Time claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due, while keeping ongoing adjudication within service expectations, industry best practices and client requirements. The position is based in Dublin, Ohio, open to remote work if outside commuting distance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through action plans to a timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions requests professionally and on time.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Primarily Indiana jurisdiction, with some Ohio; Indiana licensing preferred but not required.
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred.
• Clear thinking, judgment, problem-solving and analysis, ability to handle stress and multiple priorities, and computer keyboarding.
