Workday Product Owner & Solution Architect

About the role

MANTECH International Corporation, a provider of technology solutions to government intelligence, the Department of Defense and Federal Civilian sectors since 1968, is seeking a Workday Product Owner and Solution Architect. The hybrid position is based in Herndon, VA, and acts as the single point of accountability for the Workday platform across the enterprise. The role defines product vision, roadmap, priorities and long-term strategy in partnership with HR, Finance, Payroll, Procurement and Enterprise IT, while keeping hands-on configuration, development and architectural authority.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, building and maintaining a multi-year Workday roadmap aligned with enterprise objectives, compliance and modernization goals.
• Manage the enhancement backlog, platform governance and the overall Workday ecosystem strategy.
• Define and oversee Workday architecture across HCM, Payroll, Financials, Procurement, Security, Reporting and Integrations.
• Lead solution design reviews and govern integration architecture (APIs, EIBs, Core Connectors, Middleware) connecting Workday to Deltek Costpoint, ServiceNow, Okta and data platforms.
• Configure and maintain business processes, security frameworks, calculated fields, dashboards, custom reports and workflows.
• Manage tenant administration and environment migrations, and lead biannual release evaluation and testing.
• Provide player-coach leadership, mentoring team members on Workday best practices and managing relationships with Workday and implementation partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field, plus 10+ years of enterprise applications experience.
• 7+ years of progressive experience configuring, architecting or managing the Workday platform.
• 3+ years in a Product Owner, Lead Architect, Solution Architect, Technical Lead or Platform Owner role for Workday.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience delivering at least one enterprise Workday implementation or major platform transformation.
• Experience configuring Workday Security, Business Process Framework, Custom Reporting, Calculated Fields and EIBs.
• 3+ years architecting or managing integrations between Workday and enterprise ERP or identity systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Microsoft Azure AD/Entra ID, ServiceNow).
• US citizen; able to stay seated 50% of the time and communicate accurately with colleagues, management and external stakeholders.

What we offer

• Projected compensation range of $150,900 to $268,500, depending on experience, skills, location and contract wage determination.
