Women's Specialty Care Sonographer

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time day-shift Sonographer for its Women's Specialty Care in Ocala, Florida. The role delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures, assessing patients' physical condition and age-specific needs and documenting their clinical history accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire the patient's clinical history and document weight, blood pressure and other pertinent information depending on patient status.
• Assess sonographic images for technical quality, proper annotation and patient identification, making sure all relevant anatomy is demonstrated.
• Perform fetal Doppler studies, 3D/4D image rendering, fetal echocardiography and nuchal translucency screening.
• Analyze fetal anatomy in all stages of gestation for anomalies and fetal well-being.
• Image the maternal reproductive anatomy for anomalies, including transvaginal ultrasound.
• Perform urogynecologic ultrasound procedures, including pelvic floor studies, and urodynamic studies independently.
• Carry out invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, and other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Associate degree (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• 3+ years of sonographer experience, with a documented track record of leadership experience (required).
• 3+ years in obstetric and perinatal sonography, urogynecology sonography and/or other specialized diagnostic studies (preferred).
• History of working with a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, urogynecologist and/or other specialty-trained physicians (preferred).
• Nuclear Translucency NTQR certification preferred for Maternal Fetal Medicine sonographers.

Required skills

• Knowledge of perinatal ultrasound procedures, including invasive ones such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
• Knowledge of urogynecologic ultrasound procedures, including pelvic floor studies.
• Knowledge of specific specialty ultrasound procedural needs with experience in invasive procedures.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification (required).
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification (required).
