Women's Cut and Sew Knits Designer

About the role

Everlane is building its design team and is looking for a Designer focused on women's products, including shirting, dresses, casual and tailored bottoms, plus support on technical and tailored outerwear. As the Designer for Women's Cut and Sew knits, you will bring designs to life by reviewing samples, attending fittings and collaborating with product development, merchandising and production teams. The brand ethos is purity and simplicity, with a thorough editing process from fabric to fit, drape and construction.

Key responsibilities

• Support the creation of female knit products
• Initiate designs through thorough research and inspirational images
• Work with the design team to develop cohesive seasonal product groupings
• Hand sketch initial ideas and computer sketch final ideas
• Create technical packages
• Collaborate with Raw Materials, Tech and Production teams on product development
• Work with Merchandising partners to build seasonal knowledge of strong, ownable designs and apply it to future products
• Help prepare presentations for milestone meetings

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion or a closely related design field
• Great taste and a strong understanding of casual chic
• Desire to work on a collaborative, diverse team dedicated to doing good for the planet and the consumer
• Entrepreneurial mindset and solution-oriented approach
• A portfolio is required; include a link to it on your resume

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of knit construction

What we offer

• Full-time role in the Los Angeles Creative Studio in the Arts District
• Hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office per week, Tuesdays through Thursdays
• Annual compensation range of $67,000-$95,000, which may vary depending on background, experience and location
