Windows Systems Administrator

About the role

Astrion is seeking a skilled Windows Systems Administrator to support the U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. You will manage, maintain and secure the enterprise networks and software systems, handling full‑lifecycle administration across diverse operating environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and tune hardware, operating systems and COTS software.
• Perform backup, recovery and software management tasks.
• Monitor and operate network security tools, including firewalls.
• Analyze vulnerabilities, develop system specifications and assist with procurement market research.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues and allocate resources efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with federal and Department of War guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional Windows system administration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with backup/recovery, security, hardware installation and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with major network security tools and firewalls.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, computing and networking vulnerabilities, and modern detection methods.
• Ability to obtain an IAT II level clearance with a T5 investigation and hold a Top Secret clearance.

• Salary range $100,000 – $110,700 per year
